This is the design I entered into the Absolut Blank competition.
It was based on the Absolut Vodka mantra;
“Doing things differently creates something exceptional”
I struggled to come up with an idea for a long time but decided on a literal take on the idea of ‘experimentation’. That’s pretty much all it is.
It’s not a highly unique design, I know this kind of extravagant chemistry set look has been done to death but if I had to put my finger on it, my influence for this would have derived from Looney Tunes with Maurice Noble’s distinct style.
The only problem I really have with this design is the detail in the ‘fumes’, it’s unfortunate and very sloppy of me to have not have checked that it still worked in CMYK as well as RGB. Ah well.
