Just some prelims for Batsy.

Particularly like the mini Batman showing off his moves.

- “The night is always darkest just before the dawn” - RISE -
Spent a few hours last night getting back into the swing of things art wise.
This is my submission for KOFTR - round 2
I wanted to try something a little bit new but kept within similar parameters of a couple of things.
First was the colour scheme, I kind of knew what I wanted to do with it from it’s inception but I admit I have a a bad habit of sticking to that palette. Anyway it was meant to be morning colours to be coherent to the ‘rise’ theme.
Second, I wanted to avoid mostly flat colour for Batsy and decided on the armour plating look inspired mostly from Nolan’s batsuit.
Some happy accidents happened as well in the form of the cowl’s ‘genuine bat ear’ shape which I’m starting to enjoy a lot more of late, and the cape utilising negative space to contrast against the armour plating, I think, it works really well, even if it was primarily unintentional.
I’m quite impressed with how the Bat symbol turned out, I wanted to make a similar symbol to Nolan’s but somehow make it more ‘jaggedy’ and sinister looking. I like it, and hopefully out of context it’s still recognisable.
Anyway, that’s it! Maybe I should do something more productive now…

Wait. That note counter must be on the fritz. It seems to contain four figures. Someone should see to that.

Lovely use of colour coding.
